Do
not leave wedding flowers until the last minute. Give yourself plenty time.
We are often booked up a year (and more) in advance, particularly for Saturday
weddings. |
| |
|
| 2. |
When choosing
your florist, word of mouth is often the most reliable recommendation. If
not, have a look at their portfolio. Visit more than one florist, see which
one you feel the most comfortable with. |
| |
|
| 3. |
Talk to
your florist, make sure she understands exactly what you want. It is important
to build up trust, be guided by her advice, she is the expert. |
| |
|
| 4. |
Everyone
has their own personal style, through talking to your florist she will
establish yours. Style will largely be dictated by your personality, dresses
and your choice of wedding and reception venue. A modern, contemporary
venue will require different floral arrangements from a traditional country
house. |
| |
|
| 5. |
Give some
thought to your actual wedding date. Almost all flowers are now available
throughout the year, however, exotic or out of season blooms will inevitably
be more expensive. You may wish to use seasonal flowers which should be
readily available. |
| |
|
| 6. |
It is
often helpful to choose a theme for your wedding, this can be incorporated
into your invitations, dresses, bouquets and venue arrangements. |
| |
|
| 7. |
Colour
choices are endless. You may wish to go for your favourite colour, seasonal,
dramatic or simply pastel shades. Remember to consider the natural light
and time of year, especially for that all important record, your photographs.
|
| |
|
| 8. |
Like fashion,
flowers and styles follow trends with certain flowers and styles being ‘in
vogue’. Do remember though that the style and flowers must compliment
your outfits. |
| |
|
| 9. |
You must
consider a budget early on. You can’t get the full package if you
only have a very limited budget. Decide on priorities, obviously the bridal
party flowers are the most important and will be photographed all day. Next
to these most closely viewed are the table arrangements so perhaps these
should be considered next, balloons are often a better alternative. We will
advise on the best value for money. |

The more
information you can give us the easier it will be for us to ensure you receive
the best possible service. Consider your bridal party, if anyone suffers
from hay fever or plant allergies it is best to find this out early on in
your consultation. At the time of booking a non returnable deposit is payable.
Usually at about the 3 month point before your wedding is a good time to
clarify the final choice of flowers, you should have your colour scheme
sorted by then. Once everything is organised, we will send a letter to you
confirming all the details, price, delivery! times etc with the date of
the final payment. |
